DESCRIPTION

Urban Sympheny AG was founded in 2020 as a spinoff of the Urban Energy Systems Laboratory at Empa, an institute of the ETH domain. Sympheny empowers the planners of buildings and areas to drive the global energy transition. Its web-based platform supports optimized energy system decisions for sites from a building to a neighborhood to an entire city. Ambitious energy performance objectives are transformed into practical design solutions, and analyses which previously took days can be completed in hours.

CONTRIBUTION IN RENOWAVE

As part of Subproject 4.4 “Holistic renovation concepts”, Sympheny will improve and develop their software further and extend it into a Collaborative Platform for Renovation on District scale. The Platform will serve as a digital hub for stakeholders involved in the renovation process, enabling the development of shared objectives for the renovation project and collaborative data-driven planning decisions from early-stage planning through project implementation and operation.
