DESCRIPTION

The Institute of Landscape, Architecture, Construction and Territory (inPACT-HEPIA) benefits from large skills in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering and building technologies, unique in Francophone Switzerland. Its mission is to develop innovative solutions for the built environment of the future. inPACT promotes the landscape and environmental component as a common reference and indicator of the territorial project. Through its various applied research activities and mandates, the Institute incorporates specific questions related to sustainability, ecology, structural performance, economy, renewable energies, Smart Buildings and the development of innovative structures.

CONTRIBUTION IN RENOWAVE

HEPIA will be leading Subproject 1.2 “Local incentive programs” and Subproject 1.3 “Support and coaching tools for refurbishment strategies”. Its multidisciplinary and integrated skills enable it to master issues ranging from construction materials to territorial scales. HEPIA developed the pilot tool “renoVE” with a public real estate foundation in the canton of Geneva (Fondation immobilière de Versoix). It takes the form of a transparent and simple multi-criteria Excel tool, allowing the owner to define priorities for renovation work independently. HEPIA will also support the architectural design of the façade elements (solutions of details/interfaces) in Subproject 2.3 “Prefabricated active façade kits” as it is also involved in several ongoing pilot projects in the Geneva area, enabling it to provide contact to possible partners for pilot projects within RENOWAVE.
