The institute of Building Technology and Energy IGE develops solutions for real-world applications thanks to its systemic approach, competence, innovative power, creativity and pragmatism. IGE: has a proven record of expertise in designing and conducting research projects for a carbon-free, energy-efficient and sustainable built environment in close collaboration with industry partners.

CONTRIBUTION IN RENOWAVE

HLSU-IGE together with Keller AG Ziegeleien & Kubrix AG successfully developed the KISmur facade system, a product now available on the market which constitutes the basis for Subproject 2.2 “Sustainable and resilient renovation of facade systems with insulating bricks”. IGE is also contributing in Subproject 2.4 “Decision support instruments combining geo and building data” as it will lead the development of the factsheets and organize workshops to get the necessary feedback of the wide know-how of the RENOWAVE consortium. In addition, IGE will also select and assess appropriate energy renovation strategies for different building types in Subproject 3.1 “Innovative financial instruments for building retrofit”. Finally, HSLU-IGE will be responsible for the selection and assessment of energy renovation strategies for different building typologies in Subproject 3.4 “ Triage of value-preserving and value-adding investments”.
